Marcia K. Thompson, JD
Marcia K. Thompson is an attorney, trainer/facilitator and alternative dispute resolution (ADR) consultant. Marcia is also a certified workplace mediator and coach. She has provided mediation, facilitation, coaching and training for the federal government, state government and corporate clients.
She often provides facilitation, mediation and training in the areas of human resources, team building, leadership, law enforcement, civil rights, employment law, ethics, sexual harassment, ADA, FMLA, workplace investigations, workplace matters, and family/community matters among other areas.
Prior to practicing law, Marcia worked in federal intelligence/law enforcement for the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) for several years as an Intelligence Research Specialist. In that capacity she had a variety of assignments and responsibilities. She also served as a collateral duty EEO counselor while at DEA.
Marcia graduated from George Mason University School of Law and is licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Marcia has worked as an attorney in private practice and has worked for both state and federal government as an attorney/contract counsel and as a contract Ombudsman.
Marcia provides training for various organizations and agencies both corporate and government clients. She often provides training on human resources related topics, conflict resolution, leadership, assertiveness, communications, continuous improvement, interviewing skills, management skills and other HR/legal topics.
She has developed training and curriculum for the Department of Homeland Security/FLETC and State Department among other agencies and corporate clients.
Marcia has been faculty at various local educational institutions teaching legal, ethics, intelligence, rule of law, conflict resolution, and criminal justice, security and gender topics among other courses.
